The family Giannini, owner of the
modern Azienda Agricola Giannini Giancarlo, has a real ancient
background and history. In the little town of Vitiano, located
in the southern part of the Arezzo municipality, they have
been making superior quality extra virgin olive oil for several
generations; the oldest family documents date back to the
early 1300s. Outside the modern facility it is possible to
admire the old wheel that has been used for crushing the olives
until the end of 1800. Nowadays the facility has been completely
renovated as well as the old machinery substituted with state
of the art modern machines which are kept constantly updated
with all the new technologies available in the market.
OIL SELECTION:
Extra Virgin Olive Oil IGP Tuscany: first of all IGP stands
for “Protected Geographical Indication” and certifies
that the olives used for making the olive oil can only come
from olive trees grown in Tuscany; this is very important
considering that many inexpensive olive oils sold in the market
do not declare or certify where the olives come from.
